Entertaining at the Kato Ballroom

Planning Your Party
The first things to consider when planning your party are room size and dining options. We have three rooms available for parties: a large elegant ballroom, which can accommodate 150-1200 people, a banquet hall, for groups of up to 180 and a smaller room for anywhere from 10-100. If you make use of our full-service catering and purchase a certain minimum amount in concessions, your room rent is waived (Restrictions apply). To help plan your meal, our full catering service offers a number of delicious menus from which to choose. Or, you may create a unique menu to suit your tastes. Call 507-625-7553 and speak with our catering department.
Elegant Evening Dinner
All dinner menus are served with fresh baked dinner rolls and butter. Linen tablecloths, colored linen napkins, china, and glassware are included at no extra charge. Meals can be served either buffet style or plated for $3 more per person.

The Details
We ask that you give us a final count one week prior to the event. We will prepare the number of dinners you request, plus 5%, to ensure that there will be plenty for everyone. You will be charged for the number of dinners ordered or the number of dinners served, whichever is greater.
We suggest a Service Charge of 16% to 20% . If not told otherwise, we charge 19%. This includes gratuity, skirting of buffet tables, most set-up charges and use of the building to decorate during regular business hours. There is a mandatory service fee of 10% which is kept by the house, the remaining fee is given to the employees.
Food and room rent are subject to 6.875% MN state sales tax and 1% local sales tax.
Beverage and Liquor Service
The bar will be open for your guests to purchase liquor and beverages. If you would like to purchase drinks for your guests, we offer many ways to do that. Contact us for options and pricing.
Special drink orders must be placed at least five business days prior to the event. Special punch recipes can be prepared for an additional charge.
We suggest a Service Charge of 16% to 20%. If not told otherwise, we charge 19%. There is a mandatory service fee of 10% which is kept by the house, the remaining fee is given to the employees.
All liquor prices are subject to 10.875% sales tax. We accept credit cards at the bar but there is an additional 5% convenience charge.
There is a $150 per hour charge if you wish the bar to remain closed at any time during the evening. All prices subject to change 60 days prior to the event.

To offer you the most variety, you are free to choose from our above menus or design your own . If you are looking for something more casual you may opt for one of the following packages:
